Good times with Leslie Bailey.

On March 26 & 27, 2011 several All Dolled Up members and 2 friends had the great fortune to participate in a class taught by Leslie Bailey. Although only a few of us had worked with polymer clay before, Leslie’s precise instructions and clear demonstrations ensured that we all ended up with a more than satisfactory figure. The kit provided was well worth the cost and included tools that will be used in many other projects.

Following Leslie’s direction we made heads (including neck and ears), feet and hands from polymer clay, attached them to an armature, and added “flesh” and “skin” to the non polymer clay parts. Leslie gave us lots of tips and ideas for costuming and some of us were able to make a start in clothing our dolls . The polymer clay pieces were partially backed in class allowing us to get them home safely where we finished the process.

Val Rochester was great as class angel, helping to make sure everything ran smoothly.  Val also took the pictures in this post.

An Invitation!

Please join us at Maki House, in Nepean on Sunday, April 10 from 1:00-4:00 for our monthly meeting and planned program. This month we are going to create a beautiful beaded heart pin, a design by one of our members, Peggy Wilson. Bring a few beads and some thread and together we will learn how to make a piece of art that will be one of a kind!  If beading is not your thing then come for the fun, a cup of tea and sit back and enjoy our always popular member's show and tell.
