Good times with Leslie Bailey.
On March 26 & 27, 2011 several All Dolled Up members and 2 friends had the great fortune to participate in a class taught by Leslie Bailey. Although only a few of us had worked with polymer clay before, Leslie’s precise instructions and clear demonstrations ensured that we all ended up with a more than satisfactory figure. The kit provided was well worth the cost and included tools that will be used in many other projects.
Following Leslie’s direction we made heads (including neck and ears), feet and hands from polymer clay, attached them to an armature, and added “flesh” and “skin” to the non polymer clay parts. Leslie gave us lots of tips and ideas for costuming and some of us were able to make a start in clothing our dolls . The polymer clay pieces were partially backed in class allowing us to get them home safely where we finished the process.
Val Rochester was great as class angel, helping to make sure everything ran smoothly. Val also took the pictures in this post.
